Birsa Munda (15 November 1875 – 9 June 1900), a Munda tribal freedom fighter, religious leader, and folk hero, was an Indian tribal freedom fighter, religious leader, and folk hero. During the British Raj, he organised an Indian tribal religious Millenarian movement that formed in the tribal region of modern-day Bihar and Jharkhand in the late 19th century, making him a significant figure in the history of the Indian independence movement. His accomplishments are all the more amazing because they were achieved before the age of 25. He is the only tribal leader to be honoured with a portrait at the Indian Parliament Museum.
